Sure, Tanglewood Numbers was his nominal post-recovery album after years of drinking, drug-using and getting the shit beat out of him way too much, but strangely fantastic cuts like "Sometimes a Pony Gets Depressed" and "K-Hole" still carried the unmistakable head-scratching, what-the-fuck quality of catharsis on tape.

Passionate clarinetist and saxophonist Anat Cohen, along with the other members of The Anat Cohen Quartet, performed at Temple Israel on Sunday, June 22 under the auspices of Wayne State's Cohn-Haddow Center for Judaic Studies.
